In an especially cool touch, his right eye also glows red with an LED in true cyborg fashion! Beautiful but deadly, this excellent statue is an essential addition to any Metal Gear collection. Posed with a defeated cyborg soldier lying at his feet, this sculpture captures both Raiden’s beautiful organic musculature and his complex cybernetic armor. Seen here in his new black outfit from Revengeance, Raiden is equipped with his signature swords––the HF and Muramasa blades as well as the Muramasa scabbard––a visor which can be displayed open, closed or detached entirely, and a self-repair unit. Raiden is the game’s protagonist and first appeared in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty before re-appearing in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as the newest Cyborg Ninja. See some select photos below and the full gallery after that.Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is something of an anomaly in the Metal Gear universe, as rather than the stealth-based gameplay that’s become a hallmark of the franchise, Revengeance places its emphasis on hack-and-slash action. *Gecco provided the statue for review purposes The alternate accessories and starkly different armor color make for a great addition, even for those who own the previous Raiden statue. It looks impressive next to the previous Snake statue that was released. It’s great sculpt and flawless paint apps make for a great display. The Raiden statue is a really impressive piece overall. Nothing broke, but take extra care when handling to avoid anything snapping. The statue, due to its PVC construction, can have a few brittle pieces. All the included pieces are great for people who like to switch up their displays once in awhile. The rifle comes with interchangeable nuzzles to display with or without a suppressor. The swappable visors attach to an extra hair piece that you wouldn’t even know detaches if not for the instructions. It’s easy to activate and is fairly bright, even in standard day light. The included LED light up eye is a great touch. It’s wonderfully painted and has a nice worn look on some of the armor pieces. It is full of intricate details and varying textures. The statue is produced from a digital sculpt, so all of the parts, armor pieces and weapons are game accurate. It all takes only a minute or so and it’s ready for display. One that’s done ,you can place Raiden on the stand, put the rifle in his hand and install the rocket launcher on his back. The head needs to be removed to take out the plastic tab for the batteries. The statue requires some very minor assembly, which takes only a few moments. A backdrop is also included, which contains the instruction for assemble and parts swapping. Each piece is carefully wrapped to ensure stability. Inside, the statue sits in a clamshell plastic tray. It explains the story behind the figure as well as the names of those who worked on it. Raiden comes packaged in a great looking window box. The head also has a built in LED light that can be displayed on or off. Also included are two swappable visors for the head sculpt. Raiden has new white armor, a rifle and a rocket launcher for this release. There are a total of 12 hostiles to neutralize – 4 humans (who can be dealt with non-lethally) and 8 Snatchers, who must be killed as opposed to tranquilized or subdued. His mission is to infiltrate the base, identify and eliminate the Snatchers and neutralize the remaining survivors. This “pseudo-historical recreation” sees Raiden investigating the Cuban island after reports of “Body Snatchers” reach the MSF leadership. The White Armor Version is based on the “ Jamais Vu” extra mission from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
